Rules
ID BAG TAGS AND PICTURE ID - Each resident who uses
the golf course must carry an official SLV golf bag tag and a SLV picture
ID. Tags are available at the
Association Office and should be attached prominently to the bag.
PLAY SCHEDULE—No play may begin before
During golf season and during the month of October,
Ladies Golf has exclusive use of the entire Golf Course on Tuesday mornings
until
SEASONS - After
MINIMUM AGE—No person under age 16 is permitted on
the golf course at any time.
PRACTICE—No practice is permitted on the golf course
except on the putting green adjacent to the first tee.
ERRANT GOLF BALLS—Players are responsible for any
damage to residents’ property caused by errant shots.
CARTS—Hand-pulled golf carts are allowed. SLV-owned electric carts are also allowed,
subject to the rules governing their use (see last item).
DIVOTS, RAKES, AND BALL MARKS—Players shall help
maintain the course by replacing fairway divots, raking sand traps, and
repairing ball marks on the greens.
Traps should be entered and exited at the lowest point to minimize
footprints.
GOLF ETIQUETTE--Players shall be courteous and
considerate of other players on the course, shouting only to yell “Fore!” if a
shot may endanger another player or resident.
Silence shall be the rule on the tees when a player is addressing his or
her ball. When the course is crowded,
twosomes should invite a single or other twosome to join them. Slow players should invite fast players to
play through if the hole ahead is open.
GROUPS—No more than four players are allowed in any
playing group. Each must have his/her
own bag and clubs. Non-players are not
allowed to accompany players.
GUESTS - A resident with guests must start on the
first tee after legibly registering the guests in the gazebo. There is a limit of 3 guests and guests must
be accompanied by a resident. Guests must
be signed in, regardless of the month, season, or weather. Guest fees are $5 per guest weekdays and $7
weekends and holidays and will be billed to the homeowner each month. Season guest passes are also available for a
fee of $35; seasonal passes are available at the Association Office. Note:
Single residents with “
NON-RESIDENT OWNERS—Non-resident owners are not
permitted to use the golf course except as a guest of a resident.
APPAREL—Appropriate golf apparel shall be worn. This is meant to discourage the wearing of
undershirts, sloppy clothing, and inappropriate footwear. Shoes with heels or metal spikes are forbidden
on the course. Golf shoes should not be
worn in the clubhouse.
TOURNAMENTS—Events sponsored by recognized SLV
groups will pre-empt open play.
RANGERS—Rangers are authorized to ask to see your
IDs and to report rule infractions to the Community Manager for appropriate
action. Where immediate action is
required, Rangers are empowered to call Security for assistance.
CLOSING THE COURSE—The Golf Committee chairperson,
the Trustee liaison to the Golf Committee, and the golf course Superintendent
are the only people authorized to close the golf course for any reason.
ALCOHOL—No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the
golf course.
ELECTRIC GOLF CARTS—
(a) Association-owned electric carts may be used by
physically handicapped resident golfers who have filed a doctor’s certificate
yearly with the Administration, and who have signed a statement acknowledging
the Association policy limiting power cart use to the golf course only.
(b) Carts may be used for 9 holes of play from March
1 to November 30, weather permitting, based on the judgment of the course
Superintendent.
(c) A season medallion can be purchased from the
Association office ($100) and displayed prominently on the cart being
used. The medallion is the personal
property of the purchaser and is not transferable.
(d) Carts must observe the 90-degree rule at all
times to minimize tire tracks and damage to fairways. Carts must be kept 30 feet or more from all
greens, including behind the greens, and must never be driven between sand
traps and greens.
(e)
Non-handicapped golfers and playing guests may ride along in the cart,
but guests must be signed in at the gazebo.
(f) For
golfers recovering from short-term disability, a doctor’s certificate must be
filed. Daily cart use fees will be
billed at a rate of $10. Carts must be
signed out from the Security gatehouse, where the name of the user will be
recorded and one of the four Security medallions will be issued. This must be returned after completion of
play.
